Synopsis: The well-to-do Lannier family holds a dinner party. Wife Elizabeth is the perfect hostess while husband Bertrand nurses a perennial drink problem. Guests include their next door neighbours, the downtrodden Jérôme and the frenetic Véronique, and single mother Julie (who unbenownst to Elizabeth once had an affair with Bertrand). It's an explosive mix, made worse when the two couples discover they are to holiday at the same place.
